I started 4Kids Media, LLC., in 1993 providing graphics and design, audio and video production that then expanded into Web, CD's and even DVD's.
In 2006, after some interesting lifestyle changes, I expanded my business to include much deeper roots, those of music and performance arts, as well as live sound reinforcement and stage production.
Today, drawing on over 35 years of experience in entertainment and media, I do (produce, and perform) essentially 3 interactive music and live performance shows at fairs, festivals, special events, schools and daycare, pre-schools, water parks, private parties, campgrounds, special needs and non-profit organizations, churches and libraries, corporations and virtually any/all holiday events.
My three shows are, very, very unique! Plus, 4Kids Media, LLC., is not a booking agency or artist's representative, so you're always dealing with me. I am my company. I do all my own shows and provide all the services associated with them - ensuring that you are working directly with the talent and provider for consistency and support.
UB the Band - began in 2007 just prior to appearing at Summerfest in Milwaukee. Summerfest is the world's largest music festival, featuring (as reported to me) roughly 10 professional stages that host between 700 and 800 bands (total) each year the end of June and into the first week of July on Milwaukee's lakefront. UB the Band is an interactive, live rock band featuring (roughly) 4 different size drum sets, approximately 20 real, theme and character electric guitars, wireless microphones, stage monitors, lighting and everything found in a mainmast rock act and more....where kids, moms and dads, grandparents and friends get to get up to sing and play; and see what it's like to be their favorite artists on stage. We even feature (show depending), a rock-n-roll security pit, complete with security guards selected from the audience, plus additional audience members as our "stage crew" to help with production and the younger kids. Kip's Fun Boards - was developed in the summer of 2010 while on tour for summer fairs and festivals for UB the Band! Honestly? I'd sensed a need to create some type of promotional board for UB the Band, and painted one of those "photo cut-out boards", you know, where people stick their heads so they can have their picture taken? Well, it was soooooooo popular, that combined with a desire to add a second show and develop more value added, educational programs, the Fun Boards were born.
The Fun Boards involve 3 frames, reaching five (5) feet in total height, with interchangeable theme boards that insert to the frame and result in interactive fun and games. Some call only for the use of your head, some just your arms, others your feet or legs (or in any combination) where both the audience and the person/people using the board get involved. As a person in the board, you act, mimic, paint or draw, and perform as the theme requires, to the humor of the audience. Sometimes the audience is also called upon to react with the lead of the person in the board. The Kipster - since I have a library of something like 11,000 songs, both Karaoke and DJ for use and fun in our shows, I naturally do DJ/Karaoke work for bars, parties, weddings, special events and more educational purposes. Unlike most DJ's, I make my show interactive and unique, not only based on the songs, but with special gags and activities, and being able to customize my shows to your event.
One tool for this is a very unique and special program for playing music, that also incorporates video, images, announcements and more that I can projected onto large screen. The program not only allows me to mix and match Karaoke with DJ material, but prompt the next vocalist, display ads or announcements, incorporate slide shows and graphics, as well as videos to serve weddings, special events and corporate needs.
People do tell me that I am unlike any other DJ or Karaoke company they've hired, and I believe it. Part of that is because, sadly, few Karaoke companies and DJ's actually have a professional audio background, so they just don't know how to set up a sound system, use mics and coordinate multiple activities the way I do. But more...I am attentive to your needs, and I can orchestrate the kind of event you really seek, where others simply deliver what they usually do, or serves their needs.
